MBA M1 macOS 12.3 (Bluetooth firmware v475)

The issue:

As soon as I connect headphones (Beats Solo3) the Mac keeps resetting bluetooth connection (disconnect and connect) every couple minutes.

Tried to delete and recreate com.apple.Bluetooth.plist file and reset Bluetooth process.

It helped for a couple days. But yesterday the issue reappeared.

Saw some threads on Apple Community and Reddit. Although doesn't seem like there is a solution (other than downgrading the OS).

P.S. Apple Bluetooth devices work fine (Magic Keyboard/Mouse and AirPods).
P.S.S. Yeah, 12.3 is definitely one of those updates when I should have stayed on the previous OS version :D

Yes!! So annoying. I've found a quick fix. You simply change the audio output from headphones to speakers and back again to headphones.

... but it only works for a couple of minutes. It's faster than disconnecting/powering off headphones and reconnecting.

Changing audio output didn't try that.

For now headphones are working. If the issue reappears I'll check if that helps.

UPDATE: changing audio output doesn't resolve the disconnections. I think at this point hopefully Apple will resolve this issue quickly.

UPDATE2: Saw a post by an Apple engineer in the topic related to the Bluetooth game controllers' issue Controller not working in macOS 12.3:

Hi all, thanks for your feedback and patience.

Engineering is aware of the issue and is working toward a resolution

Well, at least they know the bluetooth is acting up :)

Same thing here. Beats Solo3 disconnect every couple of minutes then reconnect. AirPods seem to work though I don't want to jinx them.

Watching for info.

I think at this point we just have to wait for 12.3.1 (or whatever version) update.

Kinda some new information: on Apple Forums macOS Monterey 12.3 Bluetooth connection problems since update user donaldzou proposed that this issue might be related to the Spatial audio (console gives errors - "Does not support spatial audio").

Obviously, this doesn't help much. Just an observation.
Apple, pretty please, fix this issue ?

Apple released macOS 12.3.1:

This update fixes the following issues:

  • USB-C or Thunderbolt external display does not turn on when connected to Mac mini (2018) as a second display
  • Bluetooth devices, such as game controllers, may disconnect from your Mac after playing audio through some Beats headphones
P.S. A new post for a greater visibility.
