    Somewhere in the USA
He uses Windows to dictate his books  / :D

Nothing groundbreaking in this interview, but still interesting. I agree that Tiger is not a must if you already have Panther. Fortunately there's been enough buzz about widgets that some people will likely upgrade anyway just for that (I know someone who is seriously considering it just for that reason).

Some consensus needs to be reached about the naming convention of these "casts." Why not just call them "podcasts", and if need be, specify "video podcast" or "audio podcast"? The fact that you can't play a video podcast on an iPod shouldn't really matter, since you could listen to all the audio podcasts in the world without ever using an iPod.

We seem to have been able to deal with "broadcast" referring to both radio and TV. I don't see why "videocast"/"vidcast" is needed; neither sounds as good as "podcast." When the context doesn't make it clear, it can just be specified. Oh well, I guess time will tell.

David Pogue is a great guy. Very passionate about the Mac. A talented writer and funny. The use of writing with Windows may be due to his Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I know that he has complained about hand pain in the past, due to heavy use of the keyboard and mouse. Likes to use speech recognition software to prevent pain. Talked about the learning curve. Could be that the program that works for him is only available in Windows.
