Mail being sent to spam folder

Most og my emails are ending up in the spam folder. My email supplier says it looks fine on their end, but it must be something on the iPhone.
Is there a way to change spam email filter on the iPhone?
If not what can I do to receive emails correctly?

What does "fine on their end" mean? Is there a webmail interface at your provider? If so, are the affected emails showing in the inbox at the web interface?

Yes, they have a web interface and mails in the inbox there appear as spam on the iPhone mail app.

I can't get how an IMAP account isn't syncing folders and the email they contain with the server.

Maybe someone else here can explain what might be going on.
