I’m almost a year on iOS. From 12.3 until 13.3.1 now. And the default mail app only checks for mails when you open the app. Is this normal behaviour for iOS ? Because when you use an other app, for example outlook, mails pop up automatically. You don’t have to actually use the app.

So, I’m assuming... Mail is just gonna stay broken...

On iOS, nothing, on MacOS it'll depend whether those support IDLE. I believe gmail does. No idea about yahoo; I'm always surprised when I see that word as I assumed the company died years ago. I'll do a search on askjeeves and see what I can find ...

I saw the topic. But I wondered because I never got push notifications from mail. On 12.3 I also didn’t got them.... And yes, it’s activated in preferences.

There is an option in settings to have it always fetch mail, but it does seem a bit flaky.

My emails (Exchange and Gmail) are coming in and notifying me on iOS 13.3. I've seen some different behavior now and then but definitely getting notifications.

I’m getting notifications, however I have to swipe down in Mail in order to load the announced mails.

I have zero issues with my mail app, it is set up to "fetch" every 15 min.
