Hi!
I am about to pick up a Mac Mini mid-2010 server so I can use it as a media center on a TV. I know it can use macOS 10.13, but my plan is to reinstall the original OS so I can use Front Row with a remote.

Anybody did similar?

Could the Mac be woken up from a IR remote controller?

I've done this and yes pressing any button on the remote will wake the computer up
I used the original 10.6.3 DVD that came with my MBP but if you don't have that you'll have to buy a disc off of eBay or somewhere similar

I know this is old but front row is actually compatible with up to OS X Mavericks, with tweaks

https://archive.org/details/SnowLeopard (Mac Mini 2010 restore disk, 10.6.4! Should work for your Mac Mini.)
https://archive.org/details/691-6655-A0ZMac_mini._Mac_OS_X_Server_Install_Disc._v10.6_2010_DVD_DL (OS X Server 10.6, for a Mac Mini Server, just in case.)
https://archive.org/details/691-677...tions_Install_Disc._AHT_v3A191._Disc_v2.0_DVD (iLife and Applications disk! Also for a 2010 Mac Mini)

I'm not sure if they're for a Early 2010 Mac Mini or for a Mid 2010 one.... But, please try them, and check if they work with your machine! Download the torrent file with Transmission, fastest torrent app i've tested as of yet, and restore them to DVDs or to external USB drives with Disk Utility!!! Have fun!
