It has been mentioned in other threads that gay people really shouldn't complain about having human rights and just quiet down--because life is hard. Such an enlightened perspective! Linked below is the story of Kirk Andrew Murphy, who committed suicide at the age of 38. It turns out that he was "treated" by none other than George Rekkers at a government funded study at UCLA. He was conditioned, through beatings, to not be feminine. I point out Mr. Rekkers qualifications to illustrate how much a part of the establishment homophobia was--and still is. A government funded study at a major, well respected university -- to beat children who are too girly. Of course, this was the George Rekkers who resigned in shame from a religious anti-gay organization after he went on a nice trip with a male escort. http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/06/07/sissy.boy.experiment/index.html?hpt=hp_c1 Kirk's treatment was declared a success after completion.
