This is based on the ComiXology reader. Wouldn't it be better to just use the ComiX one, since it has all the Marvel comics plus others?

That said, I have both downloaded at home, waiting for when my iPad arrives.

I was waiting for something like this. Just realized that Steve jobs is the largest single owner of Marvel considering it's owned by Disney.

I said that I wouldn't use my iPad as an e-reader in another thread, but for this I would make an exception!

Hell I don't even read comics anymore, but I'll buy a copy to see how beautiful it looks on the iPad!

I have about 3000 comics in CBR Fromat so I'll be using someting like Comic Lover, or Comics.Mobi to load my own, I'll prbaby use that and the IDW or Trek Comic Apps to buy new ones.

Anyone know how much they usually charge for digital comics? Is there a discount from the physical ones or are they pretty much the same price?

I know Marvel is charging something like $60 for all access to their online collection. They don't have every old issue (yet) and won't put the newest ones up for a while, but there is still a ton offered. I assume that they don't want the service to compete with their new releases.

$60 a year or month?

The marvel app has the "guided mode" which formats each panel for you automatically making for a perfect viewing experience. It even works great on the iPhone.

Same here, I probably won't be reading books, but hell yeah I'm up for comics!

And I hope that mangas are going to kick in too!

The $60 a year is for reading online only. "any computer with an internet connection"

For the iPad app you have to download the comics individually.

1.99 seems high for a 22 page comic.
.99 makes more sense. I guess it doesn't have ads.
Keep the ads and sell a new digital comic for .99

I downloaded one of the free comics available and I compared the same comic book in the Panel Fly app and the panel fly app offers an image that is clearly better.

I still feel a bit reluctant to invest my money in apps like Panel Fly, but I do feel a little less reluctant investing with Marvel.

I still have a few questions though. If I buy comic books with Marvel, can i read those on a Mac or PC? Is Marvel going to release their app for other devices? And will you be able to transfer your purchases to that new device?

I guess I still need some reassurance that I'll still be able to view my purchases years down the road the way I currently do with my other books.

I wonder why Apple didn't include comic books in their ibooks app? Might as well go all out and since they have a close relationship with Disney, I would of guessed they could have brought Marvel on board and used that as a catalyst to attract the other comic book publishers.
