Im not totally sure of the differnece but do I need to get DVD -R or DVD +R for my MBP?? thanks!!
Like most any DVD burner sold now. It doesn't really matter. Macs used to require DVD-R but that has changed in the past couple of years and they now take both.
It used to be what you were going to use the DVD for that determined what type you used but now I am not sure it matters anymore.
okay, cool - so one's not any better than the next?
Depends what you're planning to do with the media once it's burnt. A lot of DVD Players are fussy about whether they'll read a DVD+R or DVD-R.
In my experience DVD-R seems to be more compatible.
For most basic uses yes. DVD-R is slightly more likely to work in a DVD player though as it is a more official format.
I found information about he differences here.
