As I understand it, they want Barron to finish the school year in his current school.

It's on the Upper West Side. It will barely be noticed in a couple months.

Those dismissing the affect on NYC clearly don't live here.

No proof for it but I think that Barron is a special needs kid. If that's the case, I can understand why they want to wait until the end of the school year.

My thoughts as well. Again, I have no proof either.

You said you don't have proof so I took the easy opening. If he does have a disability I would agree keeping in his surroundings is a good thing. But the flip side keeping him away from Trump might be the best thing for him.

Ya but somehow only one was "elite"!

Are you sure about that? I believe inconveniencing Manhattanites on their way to an $800/ticket 'Hamilton' show is what keeps unemployed Ohio steelworkers awake at night.

Let's see if we can work this out:

If Presidential family X lives in the White House, that means there is one team of secret service and other staff protecting them around the clock.

But say the President's family decides to live in New York, is the number of protective staff assigned to the White House going to decline? Obviously not.

Instead, we are going to have to pay for four complete years of round-the-clock protection for another "Mini White House" in Fifth Avenue. Costing the NYPD and the Secret Service tens of millions of dollars per year.

But Trump is giving us tax payers a great deal by forgoing his $400,000 salary. They'll spend that in the first week protecting Trump Tower.

Then we are going to have the cost of transporting Trump from the White House to Trump Tower and back every week. That mean two round-trips for Air Force One and at least one other support plane. Two huge motorcades every weekend. I cannot see how doing that is going to cost any less than a million dollars per weekend.

So Trump's decision to keep his family in New York is likely to cost the American taxpayer pretty much a minimum of $100 million a year. That's before the cost of Presidential vacations.

Trump has managed to increase the budget deficit by a cool half billion dollars - and he hasn't even taken the oath of office yet.

Yes. Because that's what all us NYC dwellers do - we just sit at home waiting for Hamilton to start so we can uber right over there.
