Melania Trump was granted "Einstein visa" under EB-1 program. What's her talent though?

What's her talent? Was it being a hard currency prostitute?

Being the luckiest mail-order bride in the world…. does that count as a talent?

Actually, if you read TonyC28's link fully instead of just the title, it still proves my case. She got over, while more eligible people got passed up.

You have a knack for jumping to conclusions. You’re mistaken, I did read it all. That’s why I thanked him for a more balanced less hyped article.

One of the requirements is that you are paid far more than any other specialist in your field. She doesn't qualify in any other area.

Sorry I'm still not seeing it. Can you just copy-and-paste the part that says the year Melania Trump got her visa other more qualified people from Slovenia were passed over.

Nothing new. Money talks in our legal system.

What bothers me more are all the high tech companies that use H1-B and educational visas to replace US workers.

I would, but I never said that. But since you went there, someone had to get passed up for her since those visas are extremely limited.

But she doesn't have a supporting role.

    President .... Donald Trump
First L̶a̶d̶y̶ Man .... Donald Trump
    Vice President .... Donald Trump
    Senior Advisor .... Donald Trump

It’s been reported that her parents came over based on the dreaded chain migration that Trump has been railing against. Imagine that.

Amazing. Social roles are reversing, now it's the left-leaning people who are questioning the merits of immigrants and the process of immigration policies themselves.

I think this comment is an over-reach since I believe the only one being questioned here is Melania.

Plenty on the left don’t like unlimited immigration.

No, I'm showing the hypocrisy of Trump and conservatives. Trump is against so many things that involves his personal life. He's a literal walking contradiction.

As a conservative I feel this deserves a "correction." I'll admit, Trump is all over the place with these issues, but you also called out conservatives. I don't have any problem with people who come here through legal processes, even if they are a little strange like this one. I do have a problem with any system like a lottery. And I certainly have a problem with people who come here illegally, whether that be sneaking in or overstaying a visa. As @Huntn pointed out, your real problem should be with how her parents got here.

No call for barbs like that.

Still, I think it is an interesting question why Melania was given the visa. I have no doubt she is a fine person, and probably quite smart. However, I wonder what the justification was. My ex, who was a Cambridge-educated scientist, entered the US on a scientists training visa. We got married in the US and had a kid (who is obviously a US citizen). She was forced return to her country of origin, and as a consequence our entire family had to move out of the US. This kind of thing happens everyday to foriegn scientists and other professionals in the US, so how it is Melania is considered a higher priority for a visa?
