    This was quite shocking. I wonder how much his "I know more than the generals" and "Our military is stupid" had to do with this.

    And lately at his rallies, he's been talking about Mosul and how the "powers that be" here are idiots. I'm sure that went over like a lead balloon.

    Wow, that is shocking. I wouldn't have thought that to be the case. Still, I wonder how the rank and file soliders in the field are voting?

    Man, the military sure ain't what it used to be! No wonder you guys keep losing one war after another.

    That's an interesting question, unfortunately, I don't think it can be answered based on the current FEC data because that only asks for employer and not current or last-held position. Also, it's worth noting that this only tracks donations above $200 because current rules do not require campaigns to track donations below that amount, so arguably, this data could be biased toward military members making higher wages, or officers and non-comissioned officers.

    Good points. Officers, higher ranking officers especially are typically more political in nature than enlisted.

    Yeah, you might get a couple of bucks from a corporal bucking for sergeant someday, but the average Specialist has spent all his money on beer and Xbox games. Sergeants have to spend most of their money getting their idiots out of trouble.
