On Windows, you can view .ppt, .doc, .xls and various other Microsoft Office formats in Internet Explorer.

Is there a way to get Plug-ins to do this for Safari on a Mac? And if so, are there any free ways to do this other than by having Microsoft Office installed on my iMac?

I need it mainly because my school's website has a lot of useful revision information on the website and most of it is in Microsoft Office formats (as they assume everyone has both a PC and Microsoft Office). I know I could download the files but it takes up space on my disk and I can't look at them when I've downloaded them except in Quick Look, anyway... It would just make the process easier being able to look at them in Safari.

All help appreciated.

The only viewer plug in for Safari that I know of is for MS Word. Look here:
