Man is it ever getting deep. I'm sure this was already posted. Sorry for the double post if so.
Is this regarding "Longhorn?" I think it has to be released before it can work...
Look, I use Apple's Macintosh because it does "just work" with ease that no other company can produce. If Microsoft's new product is just as easy or easier to use, I'll gladly use Windows. I as a comsumer feel that I am in a win win situation. Either Longhorn will [removed colourful phrase and replaced with "won't work well] like the previous incarnations of Windows, and I'll continue to use my Mac, or Longhorn will knock the socks off of whatever Apple is releasing with 10.5 that will be out or imminent by the end of next year, and I'll switch to Windows.
Based on history though, I'm not expecting too much from Windows, and imagine that come 2007, I'll still be plugging away on my PowerBook.
hahaha, and people;ve been using that with Macs for years.
"they don't even copy fast!"
Typical m$ arrogance at the beginning of the article though. "windows will sell more copies of windows than yak yak yak" What was that quote that just because cockroaches out number humans it doesn't mean they're more intelligent?
haha, i like the cockroach analogy
i also like their new mantra... It Just Works
yeah, just, as in it barely works, not it simply works...
typical though, as you said in the first line...maybe it's not all about the money and world domination for some. i guess these m$ people can't relate to that. the coffee shop and the dvd thing made me laugh, i could do that on my G3 wallstreet 6 years ago
I thought it was "It should have worked"...
Or, "It works 100%. OUR Operating system works. Not Apples. Don't be fooled by the OS X 10.4 "Tiger" on the box. Its XP!"
He should have asked him how many new Windows viruses there will be this year; surely they will beat Apple in this arena.
I hate that fricking company.
It Just B0rks
1. The Mac...It Just Works
"It just works.......once"
Ah, again, this part scares me... MS overriding choices again. I've found that most times when MS makes things automatic, you need to go in and switch something that you can't touch....bleh....I hope they get it right this time.
But the "It just works" sounds more like what they want and not what they have.
It Just Tries to Work
This is just sad.
I'm not bashing MS right now, although I do enjoy doing it.
But seriously, this is just sad. Billions spent on R&D, and this is what they have come up with.
the question is does it work well?
So hypothetically, if I get my hands on a copy of Windows, use it, and it doesn't just work, then can I sue Microsoft for false advertising? I might be able to get enough cash to finally buy that 20 inch iMac I've been drooling over.
Hey, if people can sue Blockbuster for false advertising because of it's "No More Late Fees!" campaign, that just might work too.
The strategy seem to be to spend all the big money on advertisement. By repeating the slogan enough people will believe it. Which on the economical bottomline is just as good as it actually being true... Dells strategy is similar, they've persuaded everyone that their products are actually cheap.
Microsoft Design Goals
For Windows: "Security is our number one concern" - Bill Gates
For Longhorn: "It just works"
How many Windows virii are there? Re"Start Something"
The more they try to make Windows like a Mac, the more I love my Mac.
I wonder if Microsoft will try to take Apple to court to get them to take "It just Works" off of their Switch site. I somehow would not put it past them . . .
However, "It Just works...maybe!" would be a better more accurate one.
