Okay, it's 12:04am in New Zealand. I wanna see first live reviews in 10 minutes...

You would think they'd have to bring out 2.0 for the New Zealand customers...

The Vodafone Store is back up again. Although they only have the Black 16Gb iPhone available for online purchase right now. *In Stock* :)

as was kindly pointed out to me in the o2 forums..

New Zealand never officially had 1.1-1.4 so wouldnt need updates to 2.0

we might have to wait till it hits Europe!

Didn't they have the iPod touch?

True the 2.0 update is supposed to be released soon.

But does it really matter if it's not? The only devices that really need it are the new iPhones...and they all come preloaded with it. There's nothing about the launch of the iPhone that REQUIRES the release of 2.0 unless iTunes would downgrade new iPhones to the last firmware upon hooking them up. That would seem rather stupid though.

Everyone's acting like all their devices will quit working if they don't get 2.0 by the time the iPhone 3G is released in their country.

Step 1 in the restore process is to extract iPhone software.

I didn't know that. It doesn't seem to be the smartest way to reinstall software, extract the software from a device that for whatever reason may be functioning incorrectly and then put it right back on.

Vodafone NZ have now added the 8Gb Black and 16Gb White to their online store.

The funny thing is that the 16Gb White is being advertised at the same price as the 8Gb!! This is going to cost them...

True, but by that rationale we could be waiting days

By the way...

It's about 6:30am or so in New Zealand right now, we've had one post from bryng posting about his white iPhone, which I guess was picked up at the midnight launch.

The main stores open in a couple of hours, so with queues and people perhaps having to get home or to work to post pics, we may see some pics and more reviews in about 3-4 hours from now.
