I am getting my Macbook Pro Soon. I currently have an iBook G4, and I want to transfer the files from it to the new Pro. However i have heard that it is not a good idea to transfer the applications over. Could someone please tell me what folders (ones that appear through Migration Assistant) I CAN transfer.

Thanks,
Nat

Install the 3rd party apps, then get any updates. Then transfer your "user accounts" with migration assistant. This will bring over all of your files, email boxes, etc.
