Mini or Macbook Pro? i'll get the 24-inch display for sure but what should with it?

what's the best combination? Mini or Macbook Pro with the 24-inch display...i'm a light user but i'm planning to watch loads of movies on it too.

and it's going to be my first mac!

what do you think,guys?

Easy decision. If you don't need portability, and you are going to use a monitor either way, then go with Mac Mini. Save the money. No need to blow extra money on something you won't use.

If you get the mini and the Apple display (rather than use your existing PC display, buy another 3rd party display) you'll end up spending so much that an iMac will cost less and perform better.

Concur. If you want a desktop Mac, then buy a desktop Mac. The iMacs are beautiful and powerful.

i would buy an iMac but first,21.5' is too small for me and 27 is way too big,that's the main reason plus i'm so in love with the cinema display...

what's more powerful,the mini or macbook pro 13 inch? (both models)

The mini used notebook components, basically everything is the same as the Macbook, so expect the same performance.

You'll have to move fast on the 24" ACD, they are discontinued, and the only ACD in the line will be the new 27", which is the same display panel as the iMac.
