    Purely disgusting.

Watch the video, listen to who he thanks first!

FYI the Family Research Council is a hate group in case anyone doesn't know that.

*Thanks localoid for the video tag!

He thanked them for their leadership on "issues vital to America and our families." Can someone tell me what is so destructive about gay marriage? Marriage is just an abstract idea and a piece of paper. But then again, the FRC wants to ban gay people outright from America, so I guess freedom doesn't mean much to them anyway.

And what do you know, yet another example of Mitt Romney caving on what is right for what is easy. This man doesn't have the integrity to be in the same room as Obama, let alone try and take his job.

Of course he would thank them. He's pandering to their base.

For the video you mentioned, it'd look like this:

Why again don't these groups start protesting divorce?

Name one gay couple worse for the sanctity of marriage than Kim Kardashian.

Why does my skin crawl every time I see him make a speech? I look forward to the debates... they should be "fun". :D

He cites the Brookings Institution's study about poverty as an argument against gay marriage, I think. Can someone confirm this at 2:10? If so, then he's saying that gay marriage leads to poverty. UNBELIEVABLE!

He says that the government has been stifling religious freedom. Can someone enlighten me on instances when the government has told religious people "you can no longer worship your God?"

    He sounds drunk.

Is that unusual for a Mormon?

Awesome, I didn't realize that marrying my GF will lead to poverty. This is the kind of stuff that makes my head hurt.

    Ooh Ramen Noodles

you want this guy to be president? so we can hear him smack his lips every few seconds while reading from a teleprompter ?:D that should be a good enough reason to not vote for this guy, On a serious note this guy will say anything and thank anyone for a shot at the presidency, same guy who insulted The British at the olympics and the same guy who made a speech and called Jerusalem the capital of Israel, and he is now talking about how Obama failed in his dealings with the Mideast :D

A lot of things Mitt says either make me roll my eyes or shock me. But for the first time, he's actually offended me.

basicly the only hope the GOP and Romney has left is trying to rally their base. Only problem in doing so is they are turning the independents more and more against them.

The GOP should of kick the Tea Party out a long time again and took the lumps then instead they are dragging them down like a boat anchor. Kick the Tea party out let them become the far right. Let the GOP move more toward the center and then the Dems move farther to left. Then you would have a much better repercentation of the people.

I hate to admit it, because I try to be an amicable person, but this is the kind of stuff that keeps me seething in a low boil whenever I go into any political forum.

Even if Romney does become president, he can't reverse everything back to 1955 (where he thinks he's from). I can't wait to see those strikes and revolts happening. Stonewall and the London riots will be child's play.

Sanctity of marriage, my ass. When they successfully ban divorce, I may give them some credibility.

Romney, sorry about the confusion. I was agreeing with vega.

I wonder how long until republicans realize that running on the social conservatism gimmick no longer works. Perhaps after this election...

that is what I figured. I was just making sure.

I will say that what Romney said sadly did not surprise me at all.

Some people think forcing their religious beliefs on others is a form of worship
