Anyone any experience of Wi-Fi process in Mojave using massive amounts of Ram?

Machine is a 2017 nTB with 16Gb ram. Running well. I suspect its some quirk of memory management but not certain.

Exactly what is the process name?

"Wi-Fi"

Starts out using around 18Mb, now using 2gb and can continue to climb.

Mine is currently using 5.5MB. I'm running 10.14.0, have not installed 10.14.1.
2015 13" MBPro, I'm using 5GHz 802.11ac.

I've already reinstalled a non clean install. I'll try the 14.2 beta and if that fails reassess.
