I'm looking for a monitor. I have a nice old 21" BenQ that I hook my MBP up to. I also recently got a HD DirecTV box which I hook up to it so I can watch TV in my bedroom. But I'm looking to upgrade. I don't want to spend the $350+ for a 21-32" decent HDTV. I don't need a TV tuner, and I like the video that's on a good computer Monitor over a cheap LCD TV which costs more.
Currently my monitor is off to the side of my bed, and I want to mount one at the end of my bed. Here's what I'm looking for:
1. Multiple digital inputs. 1 (probably HDMI) for my DirecTV and 1 DVI (or HDMI) for my computer. This way I can watch my TV or shows off of my MBP more easily.
2. Descent Built In Speakers. I don't want to to have to mount speakers in addition, and have a built in amp, etc. Trying to keep it simple.
3. Remote ability for the monitor. I'd like to turn the monitor off and on with my remote, maybe even and SLEEP function! God that be nice. This is the most obnoxious feature that my current monitor lacks, but I can't find a monitor with this feature or an alternative solution.
21" would be the smallest, 32" is the biggest, and something in between would be nice. Does anyone know of a good model, or a cheap addition alternative that would work nicely?
