Is anyone else excited about the upcoming net release of a "The Hunt for Gollum"?

Briefly, its a fan film about the Lord of The Rings that looks to be really high production quality, as far as fan films are concerned. From the official site:

The script is adapted from elements of the appendices of The Lord of the Rings. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.

Well bravo. They got rid of the picnics, runners, and trophy-wives and their trophy dogs, and made Hampstead Heath look like Middle Earth. The costumes themselves seem to be the most difficult part. It's hard to get clothing that dark and ragged for the Orcs unless you befriend a lot of homeless people, while the clothing for Aragorn could be acquired easily by raiding Clint Eastwood's closet.

Two of my students, Nikos Nikolalaios and Marco Iavarone, were involved in the making of this, I assume they were part of the sound department, as I taught them Audio Post Production, and they were both interested in getting into film sound as a career.

We got invites to the screening today, unfortunately I couldn't attend.

I'll be watching it online later.

Well done to all concerned.
