I have downloaded several .mpg clips with audio,
I have put them together to make one movie using Quicktime Pro but I always loose the audio, I have tried other applications e.g. iMovie with the same results. How can I join clips together and keepthe audio, or is there other free software that I can use?

Well, one way of joining MPEGs, providing the files have the same properties, is to use a freeware application called mpgtxwrap - search on VersionTracker for it. Works quite well on the files I use it on.

For what it's worth, QuickTime doesn't really handle the editing of MPEG1 files well. It plays most ok, but doesn't like to mess with the muxed audio and video stream.
