I mulled over throwing this into the Political forum but I think this is a more of a community discussion thing. Well I ran a Windows Update on my puter this evening like I do at the end of every month and it found one update. Not being the total lackey I always research the update to find out if its blow up anyone computer so I can determine if I should hold off for a while. In this case I was surprised at what I had found on the one single critical update: The tech note on the update said: I found it interesting that MS didnt go into detail as to WHAT symbol in the font it was replacing. To find that out I had to do a little searching on the net. Further net research determined that this update removes a swastika Symbol from the font. Don't know how it got in there. Maybe someone said screw it we are going to include it along with everything else. *shrugs* The reason is beyond the scope of this post. I'm just wondering what you guys think. Should they have done this or not. Was this being overly PC or not. I understand what this symbol represents, actually it was/is a religious symbol that the Nazi party distorted, so if what it represents it inherently negative is there a legit reason, other then maybe a research paper, to include it in a system font? Thoughts other then MS bashing??
