I don't use MSN Messenger either, but I can say something about it. I had kept the version that came bundled with Office v.X. Even though I don't use it, I upgraded to the latest version. That was not a big mistake, but it was most certainly annoying. The new MSN Messenger started up everytime I started my computer. I quickly learned that you have log into Messenger to turn off autostart. Without an MSN account, my only recourse was to trash the thing, which is what I did.Originally posted by jakejess
I can't say much about Messenger since I don't use it, but IE is not a great product. The version we all use now is almost the same one we started with on OS X. There have been no major updates, no new features, and nothing to set the OS X version apart. It is the slowest browser I have used and is compatable only because MS rules web browsers with an iron fist. Every other major browser on OS X continues to innovate, why can't Microsoft, now they're even delaying because Apple is bringing competition and we all know that competition is unfair to poor MS.

Unfortunately, you have a lot of Microsoft-minions and Gates-geldings out there who think that FrontPage is just peachy as a Web-page editor and that IE is the only browser. (Some of them work at my firm.) They don't even try to be W3C standards-compliant.

you're the dell dude, aren't you? or else you're just high. IE is so bad a browser that Apple had to create their own, so OS X users would have a valid choice (balance between features and speed)... and don't get me started on MSN...

MS blackmails Apple users with their products by withholding innovations to keep Apple customers with older/less efficient software and thus less competitive.
This is an abusive relationship Apple users have with MS. They jerk the chain and threaten to withhold products just like an abusive relative/friend/business "partner" may do so, gleefully watching Apple users squirm in frustration and fear of being abandoned. Psychology 101 about abusive relationships. Emotional blackmail.
But should Apple or a third-party come out with a great competitive product, suddenly, MS jumps to their feet and cry bloody murder or suddenly becomes "helpful" and "friendly" and starts giving "incentives" and "discounts" to keep Apple users.
