Is there any site out there covering this live?
It starts in 33 minutes and I can't find anything...
none that I'm aware of.... I'm REALLY surprised that Apple is webcasting this as it's a major announcement.
I've got some friends from record companies that are there though, they need to keep their mobiles switched on. heheh
YOU be the news feed then.
go on - start now.
all of us in the office have been texting them and calling them all morning trying to get them to leave their mobiles on...
Keep your eye on http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/index.html
At the moment it's redirecting to jukebox.html but the page does exist. So it's my guess this will change when the word is given.
Each song 79 pence!! iTunes Europe UK
£7.99 an album is just so sweet.
And in Germany and France it's 0,99 - nice! I might just buy a couple songs... the store is going to open after the event, according to the MacNews transcript.
Ok, the event is over. The British, German and French music stores should go online in a couple minutes. iTunes can now server 60% of the music market, according to Jobs.
In English here
leenoble, I still only see the US store despite restarting iTunes.
Is it up in the UK yet I can't get to it, and I have my Euro 2004 winnings to spend
I made it also
...but I can't find the tracks I wanted to buy :-( .
ignore the billing information warning... open up the store and you can switch between stores (it's a drop down menu at bottom of the page) once you've accessed the Store.
BBC News article here
I used to get the store selection dropdown, but it's gone now... and the store still is a mixture of English and some German. I guess it takes a while to update everything. But buying works.
To clarify go to sign in, then select not us billing address and then there is a drop down menu
The Apple Uk homepage has now changed....
......Yes I'll shut up soon
Apple.com hasn't which is surprising, but they've added it to the 'Hot News RSS' and on the news page.
The "free single of the week" cost me 0,99
Yeah, we all want a single!
