Can anyone help me use my Sony Media on an IMAC.
I'm shooting interviews on a Sony XD Cam... but there's no software to use the Sony media card (MXF Files) on a Mac. I've tried using a Video Lan (VLC) player... but I only see the video... no audio on my MAC.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

What kind of editing suite do you have? Final Cut or Avid?

Avid can import Sony XDCam (PAL SD) MXF container files from version 2.7 upwards (Media Composer, in my digitizing experience).

Final Cut I don't really know. Have a look at this XDCam page from Sony, it offers lot of software, but the playback one is only for Windows.

I'm not editing... just logging interviews. So I don't have either Pro or Avid.
Thanks.

You need to have FCP or Avid to view the video. What you'll need to do is have whoever is editing the project export some proxy videos with burn-in TC for logging.

The process is fairly simple with an app like Proxymill.
