yup this is it, i finally will have earned an avatar with my 500th post. yay!!!!!!
congrats! What exactly is your 'tar?
i'll forego the debate about whether this was worth a new thread and say it's good to have another fairly senior member! i myself made it into the top 25 posters the other day .
i like your 'tar too, it looks neat. but i wonder too what it is?
Im 15th! . I didn't realize how high up I was.
btw, I think it is perfectly fine for a person to post that they
reached 500 posts. It is a (fairly) big accomplishment.
Congrats, once again.
yeah i had a hard time convincing myself to start this thread cause i know it is kinda useless...and i usually do my best to stay away from useless posting but i thought what the heck, might as well.
anyway my tar is one of the monsters from the book "where the wild things are" one of my favorite books when i was a little kid. if you havn't read it READ IT. its just a short kids picture book, just a few sentences per page. but its cool.
awesome. i have that book, LOL... or should i say, my little brothers do. that's good stuff.
I KNEW THAT LOOKED FAMILIAR!!! I love that book! I used to
read it every night when I was little. My dad would read it
to me sometimes, and make growling noises, and in the 'scary
parts' he would grab me and growl. Good memories. I haven't
read it in a long time though. It would be interesting to do so.
By Maurice Sendak, right? We have the book somewhere in the house, but we have a lot of books so I'm not going to go look for it. I remember reading an article about the book. It said that many parents thought the book was too weird and scary for kids, but that most kids connect with it because it's about overcoming fear.
Well its not 500, but here's my 100th!! YAY!
I'm almost at 500 less than 100 to go i think.
Wasn't your name originally spam0? It's no wonder you're 15th.
actually i always wondered....what does scem0 mean?? just curious
i love that book so much that i have the line of figures dancing the 'wild rumpus' on my entertainment center sometimes i think they're cute... fond childhood memories...
Congratulations Howard! I don't remeber reading that book whenever I was little, but I'm sure that it is good.
scem0 - I was just wondering, too, what does scem0 mean?
Congrats! well that puts me over 400.
but I was under the impression we were not supposed to be starting threads like this?
My geekiness shines true when you learn how I got my name.
Well, There are 2 parts to my name:
sc and em0
starcraft + Emerson = starcraftemo = scem0
Emerson is my real name, Emo is a nickname .
And, no, I was never spam0.
Well done howard, congrats!
Damn, just checked an I'm the 18 biggest poster! How time flys!
it seems like you take and spend enough time here to make 500 posts you should be able to make your own thread just once like a Bah Mitzvah (sp?) of sorts or a sweet sixteen party.
You spelled it right . Do we get challa? I love challa.
challah is a type of bread eaten by Jews very often. I know
barely anything about it but here is a site that has a lil' info:
this site isn't as good but has info nonetheless:
ha ha... I was ahead of you at one point, long, long ago.....
Know what you mean though, I'm trying to restrict my time on MR to something alittle more sympathetic to my workload!!
spam0 - oh so appropriate...
and yes, this really isn't something all that worthy of posting - however, I'm a big fan of Where The Wild Things Are - loved that book when I was a kid. That and Dr. Seuss
Nice choice of a 'tar howard
hey i thought arn forbade us to start threads like this!
i love where the wild things are
i remember when i reached my 500th and 1000th posts all too well...congrats howard!
