A couple of days ago, my battery health was at 86%. Keep in my I never used AOD, but don't ever use low power mode (and don't intent to).

It seems like the cheaper option is to pay for a battery replacement. Should I just buy the bullet and get an S9?

Well, there isn't a huge difference between the S9 and S7. look at the trade in value and how much you have to pay vs. Apple's watch battery replacement cost (Only use Apple as you will get a new case with them and guaranteed water resistance, you won't get this with 3rd party battery replacement)

I also had an S7 at 85% and I could barely get a day's worth from "full charge." I looked at the battery replacement cost ($99 +tax) and the trade-in value ($155). I figured the trade-in value would just get lower together with the battery health if I waited longer so I bit the bullet and did the upgrade. Aside from a healthy battery, there's the brighter display and faster processor. There's also the the double-tap feature but it remains to be seen if I'll be using that a lot. On the cosmetic side, I do get a new case color (from blue to starlight) :) .

I upgraded my S7 and am glad I did. The S9 is a lot faster, siri is WAY better, and it really is a lot brighter. No regrets at all. I play Pickleball a lot and it is so much easier to see due to the increased brightness and the workout apps are easier to use since siri is so much better. Can hold the watch up to my mouth and just whisper and siri picks it up and responds promptly. Also got $155 for my S7 on trade-in.

Yes, I was in the same boat.

My S7 would barely last a day.

Traded her in for $155 credit against a S9 and the battery life is amazing.

3 days in and the S9 keeps double the battery life.

Plus the apps are way faster with the newer processor.

My Ford EV app is so much quicker with the S9.
