Basically I had to get my computer wiped and I still have all my music on my iPod but I need to add more stuff to my iPod but I can't because it says my library is going to get erased if I sync it or something.
What can I do I have about 20gig of songs I can't lose as they're not from iTunes Store or CD and I don't want to lose them

    Thanks in advance
    MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

You can download a program like 'DeTune' and try to transfer songs back into your computer once it's restored.

Not sure how long OR if 20GB will work out but still worth a shot. (I've only ever had about 5GB of music or so)

    Good luck!

^ I don't pirate anything I can buy in a shop or on iTunes.

Thanks to the other poster I'll look into that I guess. Still worried about losing the other stuff on my iPod, pictures and stuff.

This is the iPhone forum so the "snarky" replies are just part of it.

Anything you bought from iTunes you can download again for free. The rest you will need to re download via CD. Or like the others said you can use third party software.

I too, find it is a pain in the butt to reload all my songs each time, but Apple is not going to change.

If your library was important to you, why isn't it backed up?

Not everyone does this, and I'm shocked. I have my Mac backed up 3 times because of my picture. Once you lose those that's it, no going back. Music and movies I can get back, but it would take days and days or re-ripping and I think the price I pay for CrashPlan is worth that alone.
