My mother dropped my dad's phone and now it has dents. Is there a fix?

You need to find the other side of the dents and get a small tool to bump it back out. They sell these tools online at newegg or your local apple authorized repair center. Just ask for the tool or else they will charge you a lot of money to repair it for you.

I am going to say don't do what was recommended above. Accidents happen. If mom and dad love eachother they will work it out. My wife ran my phone through the wash launch day (iPhone 4). I was really upset, but we got it replaced for $100 (Apple store felt bad for me lol). That's life.

But if you try and take the phone apart to "hammer out" the dent, you risk damaging it worse AND voiding the warranty.

He'll get over it. It may take a little while, but he'll get over. Men have fits over 2 things, denting their car, and messing up their electronics. :p

Make up an amazing story for it lol.

(Think of this in an australian accent)
So there I was mate, pitch black, naked as a new born with just my iPhone. I had had to drink my own urine earlier that day so I was woozy. Then what do ya know a fakin' polar bear was right there, so I threw my iPhone at him and what do you know, it hit its one weak spot, the self destruct button. This poor old bloke went BOOM, blood everywhere. Worst of all... my phone got This Dent.

Check to see if the card you used offers "purchase protection". Amex offers that along with an extended year warranty on purchased items.

As long as the phone still works, it really isn't a big deal in my opinion. Just encourage your mom to get a case for dad's phone.;)

Put a case on it and forget about it.
Take it a lesson learned. People drop things all the time.
If the phone still works fine with the little marks or scratches on it then you'd be ok.

Tell her to buy the case he wishes he could own, but didn't because of cost. Place the iPhone inside and tell him the story.

If it's a new phone, buy AppleCare+ and get it replaced.

Hows come your dad doesn't use a phone case?

Obviously we all think the iPhone is a sexy beast, and want to touch it and show it off; but it's a prized possession and should be protected.

That's one reason why I don't get the overzealousness over colors; you SHOULD be encasing it anyways, not worried about showing off the gold really.

But that's me; I'm much more of a practical kinda guy than a materialist.

If you're worried about it's looks & integrity, slap a case on it!

    ... divorce.

Only kidding. Apple store is the way to go. If it takes a while to fix I'm sure your dad will be fine provided that your mum pays for the repairs.

Try reading the OP again. Specifically, pay attention to the second sentence.

    Should is a subjective matter.

Tell mom she can make it up to him somehow ... :)

Maybe you will get a sister or brother out of the ordeal.

    Get new mother.
    ;)

Put a bulky case on it to hide the marks. They can't be fixed.

It's not fraud. You can buy Applecare+ within 30 days of buying a new iPhone. AFAIK, there are no prerequisites about what condition that iPhone must be in.
