My old 2011 MBP with an Evo SSD is waking up faster than my new 2015 MBP?

So, I have finally settled on a new mac and ended up going with a maxed out 2015 model that became available on the Apple refurbished store. So far, I am really enjoying it and I have definitely noticed many improvements HOWEVER, that is not the case with sleep wake ups. My 2011 MBP wakes up in a blink, my 2015 MBP wakes up in about 5 seconds. It is rather irritating since I frequently am portable with this computer and wake it up constantly. Any suggestions that could maybe fix this?

(I originally asked this over on Apple forums but didn't get any solutions)

Given how fast the PCI-e flash is supposed to be in the 2015 MBP models, I am rather surprised I am having this issue especially considering that it is supposed to be much faster than a SATA SSD.

What versions of the OS are each running?

The 2011 not being encrypted, while the the 2015 is, would be my guess.

Omg, you're right. I didn't even think I selected to turn on FileVault in setup but it is enabled. I never had it on my 2011 model.
Would that alone cause that much slow down?

    I believe so.

I'd suggest searching for similar threads here on Macrumors. This type of question has been asked from time to time, with much better explanations than I could possibly give.

    Good luck!!

Yep FileVault will slow it down that much.
