My Retina Macbook Pro just fell 4 feet onto the kitchen floor.

Luckily I had a speck smart shell protective case on it. No damage at all to the laptop. A few scratches to the top of the case though. My son pulled on the power cord and the laptop went flying. My wife saw it happen.

So glad I bought that case
