It's got whistling in it, but it's not the Whistle Song and it's not that other song by Newton... it's really popular in European clubs, and it's definitely a couple years old... anyone know?

Is it "Young Folks" by Peter Bjorn and John? Don't know if that's what the above poster put a link to as I'm on my iPhone and can't play it.

It sounds like "The Age of Love" and it's actually 19 years old"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Age_of_Love_(Age_of_Love_single)

It's not to be confused with the Tourettes Syndrome Fest Scooter released with that name years later. The bunch of cheesy quavers!

Here's just the build up with the whistle sound and breakdown afterwards (47 second clip)

Isn't it "Love Generation" by Bob Sinclar? The album is "Western Dream".

Thanks for all of the responses, but unfortunately it's none of these songs...

I guess the best way to explain the song is that it's definitely techno/house, and there's this sort of whistling that is the chorus... SO vague, I know. A lot of European clubs play this song, it's been around a couple of years, it's not really popular in the U.S. ...

I also don't know if there are any lyrics...I don't think there are, but I could be wrong (I always hear it when I'm out and don't pay attention to the lyrics...)

I somehow missed the "techno" in the name until this point and went purely on "whistling"! Sorry bout that. I would offer more ideas, but techno isn't my forte....

uhm...it's kinda hard on here, but my best bet would be the part with the actual whistling - and it's not real whistling, it's definitely synthesized to sound like whistling: da DUM da dumdum [andddd this is repeated... the caps mean the notes go up significantly]. This is basically the "chorus" of the song.

Record yourself humming it in quicktime or something and upload it to some file-uploading site.

It will help us quite a bit more than da DUM da dumdum :D

Old thread, I know, but it might be Engel, by Rammstein. Even if it's not Engel, that song is still great.

Techno isn't really my style, but I once heard this techno song that was like "dum dum dum", and there was this high pitched siren, and some old science fiction quote like "The system is down".

"We had that light switch installed for you so you could turn the light on and off. Not so you could throw Lightswitch Raves!"

    Classic HSR bit there.

Hehe, I love that skit. Any time I hear something about techno, I think about it. I actually had it as a ringtone for a while.
