I don't want this discussion to turn into a fight about the war but about a man that gave his life to save others. If you were in his position would you do the same thing?

This is quite an amazing and touching story of heroism. I'm glad to see that he is being honored with the Medal of Honor.

Would I do the same thing. That's a tough question. I was also a 2nd class petty officer when I was in the Navy. I am sure that the training received by petty officer Monsoor came in to play on that day and he did not think of himself, but only of his buds and his training. He did what he had to do. SEALs are some seriously tough bastards. PO Monsoor honors what is best and admirable among those who serve, putting the safety and well being of others above yourself.

He will be missed, but never forgotten.
