H guys, I recently purchased an iphone 3G and I'm looking for a good video converting app for Mac OS X. Something that's designed to convert any video files to compatible iphone format in 480x320.

Thnx in advance

In the future - I'd suggest doing a search - as this thread comes up a LOT. (I understand you're new here, just trying to help)

Next - I'd suggest Handbrake. Easy, works great and is for OSX.

I'd suggest the 0.9.2 build as that one will crack DVDs all by itself. The newest version 0.9.3 requires you get VLC and install that into your Applications folder. (not a big deal, as VLC is a great video player anyhow)

Handbrake - at first I thought it only did DVD's but it does all video formats - it's simply brilliant.

jesus christ, handbrake is freaking awesome!!! I'm using it right now!! Thnx guys!!!

9.3 allows you do convert already made video files to other formats. 9.2 and earlier only encodes dvd's

plus vlc is software id recommend anyways
