I need help upgrading my jailbroken iphone 3gs to IOS 5.0.1. I am currently on IOS 4.1 (used iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore and redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc18) on baseband 6.15.00. Last time I tried upgrading I messed up, hence the ipad baseband. Can someone point me in the direction where I can find what I need to upgrade? Thanks in advance-

Download latest redsn0w 9.10b4 from:

http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

Make a custom no BaseBand ipsw.

Connect iphone to usb

Use TinyUmbella to set your host file to apple, advanced tab uncheck set host to cydia, exit TU.

put your phone in dfu mode

Restore with Shft-restore (win) or Alt-restore(mac) in itunes to your custom BB.

After that run redsn0w to jailbreak.

Good luck
tutorials on iclarifeid.

How do I make a custom no BaseBand ipsw? I am downloading iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw.crdownload. Is that the ipsw I want to install so that when I run redsn0w, it is jailbroken and untethered?

I have done a bit of looking around on iclarified, but do not know if I have the right ipsw. I downloaded iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore, as well as redsn0w_win_0.9.10b4. I just want to make sure I have the right files and don't want to screw up again. Will that ipsw work for an untethered jailbreak? Again, I have an iPhone 3gs on ios 4.1 on the iPad BaseBand. I was going to follow the tutorial found at http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=18932.

I apologize for the bump, I just want to make sure I do this right.
