Hello,

So I have iSquint and it's worked great for converting movies I get over torrents (legally) to play on Apple TV. The Movies are usually 700-800MB each and are DVD rips (legal!).

I usually use the "go nuts" setting which makes a 700MB AVI video become a 1.2GB MP4.

I then tried the "standard" setting. and that came up with a 700MB MP4 file which has the same video quality and according to the visual inspector in QuickTime, it's the same resolution as the larger "go nuts" video.

So why is the larger file larger? is it better quality to the trained eye?

and what settings are recommended to get the best possible picture when converting these AVI movies for my Apple TV? so far all what "go nuts" has done is produce a large file, unless I'm missing something?

thanks!
