I have an iPad Pro and a USB flash drive that has pictures on it, and I want to import them into the Photos app on my iPad. I know you can do it if it just has pictures in a DCIM folder, but how do you do it if it has a lot of folders inside like I do I made a DCIM folder and inside of that folder I have another folder with pictures.do I do it like that? Or is there another way? like for example I know you can do it with the Mac.

Open Files, locate the photos you want, touch Select, tag the photos (or touch "Select All"), Share, Save.

maybe I wasn't clear I want to do it in the iPad photos app like for example if I had a picture folder in a flash drive and a folder in that folder and then a picture in that folder, can it be imported to the photos app?

Using Files will save it to the Photos app.

Can it be done from within Photos? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ never tried.

It automatically goes into the Photos..correctly so at that. I've tried. Importing via ITunes or MyDevices is a pia. They get down scaled and difficult to delete from Photos app

Apple doesn’t allow “Folders” in Photos. It goes straight into one big bucket. It’s then sorted by photo taken within exit OR of it has no taken date, it gets a new imported date and then it’s sorted by that date.

It’s a mess if you’re used to Android yes. I know…my first iP since the 6.

You will have to use Files. Go into the folder you want, select photos, save to device (or save as, don7fully recall now). These gets automatically saved to Photos. If you want a “folder”, you will have to create an Album for the recently imported photos.

Importing from Mac/Win they get the original folder name at the bottom of the Photos app, ut they are reduced in size (bad) and you can’t delete that folder from your iPhone/ipad (bad).
