Neo traveling around Europe - Denmark, Czech, Germany....

Love my new travels using the Neo!

Taking 3 week trip thru Europe with my Neo.
Business flight from LAX to Copenhagen with the Neo was very nice on SAS.

Neo has been so far: Copenhagen, Prague, and currently in Berlin.

Loving it almost as much as my retired 12" rMB I had been traveling with over 9 years.

Neo has been awesome, super fast at hotel WiFi, and great for planning our daily trips.
Integrating with the iPhone is a big plus too.

Neo did come to the rescue when my wife lost her iPhone on the Copenhagen metro and I logged her into Find My Phone using my Neo plus my phone's hotspot.

She did have to buy a new iPhone 17 from a Denmark Apple reseller as Apple Stores do not exist in country.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. The Neo is a very practical device. I'm about to take my new Neo on the road on vacation - driving from Texas through mid-America - and leaving my Samsung tablet at home. I'll hotspot it to my 16e and use Hotel WiFi and watch it do its thing. It's perfect EDC backpack size.

The Apple MacBook Neo is EDC!

Neo has been awesome - much better battery life and runs so cold to the touch - no more heating up.
So nice not to take my work MBP, MBA and disconnect from work!

Consider setting up mutual Find My tracking with your wife. We have done that for years. It's even more important when we travel. In this case, you would have easily tracked the phone from your phone, including route to get to it. If she had an Apple Watch, she can also set up Find My to warn when it's left behind.

Our kids can track us, as well, though we can't track them. It's reassuring they can find us in an emergency.

Oh, that's the funny part, wife's phone had a weird setting that caused the "Share your location" not be active.

Her Apple watch could not track it and neither from my iPhone even after granted permission to track.

Apparently, there is a deep nested setting under privacy to turn on "share my location" that had to be turned on which we did not know about and caused this mess.

We only found out about this after we even got a new replacement iPhone at the Denmark reseller.

Their tech could not figure out why her phone when restored from iCloud would not behave like mine (location sharing).

They eventually found it after 30 minutes of searching for 2 different locations of sharing your location.

Can you believe it's a iPhone 17 Air ?

People on the iPhone forum made fun of my choice - well I am happy with my iPhone. Thin and lightweight made it easy to lug around on foot.

My Neo was perfect for planning all our stops and travel plans because others in my family were having issues with translating & reserving webpages on their mobile devices.

So glad to have brought along the cool running, long lasting battery Neo instead of my 10 year old 12" rMB that had such a short battery life and gets warm.

Plus it was very nice not to lug around my heavy work Mac with me on holiday.

Yes, tried currywurst twice - both times there were no spice and very little curry flavor so I ended up buying some Eat Berlin Currywurst spice to take home and try my own recipe.

I was just about to ask you about WW2 from Germany's perspective (i.e. memorials, museums, etc). Thank you for posting these.

Really impressed with the camera in your Air, despite its so-called shortcomings. It just proves that any iPhone can take breathtaking photos in the right hands.

First, next time I suggest to visit "Little Berlin" as the American call it.

Second, eh, any other smartphone can do this as well.

I could write much more about German perspective about WW2 but I don't know if this is allowed here. So, if you want more, please write a PN.

Third, yes, well done! Nice photos and good to see that 4sallypat needs are fulfilled by the MacBook Neo. Uses the same chip in the iPhone.

Berlin was very respectful about atrocities during the mid 20th century.

We were supposed to take a tour of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp about an hour outside Berlin, but the tour got cancelled due to the rain.

We did go to other Berlin sites and took in the amazing heartbreak:

I'll jump in -- my Neo is indigo and the keyboard is impossible to see. It's the one BIG thing that needs to improve on future models. An easy fix for me has been to buy stick-on letters at Walmart and apply them. Less than a dollar. Don't get me wrong, the MBN is still beyond awesome, but it NEEDS A BACKLIT KEYBOARD!! (Yes, I was yelling)

From pictures and a quick visit to the Apple Store, it looks like the lighter colored NEO (especially silver) have keys that are more contrasting. Any comments from folks with those MBN?

Your Neo looks very elegant! Good taste!

Back when we were in Berlin and visited Sachsenhausen, we proceeded to eat the local doner kebab shop dry. We were absolutely famished! Interestingly enough, I was the one who had to egg everyone else on to do it.
