Hi all,

Longtime lurker, first time poster, lol.

I've been following this thread :
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/381510/

...and here's what I'm trying to do.

I have a fairly new Windows 7 machine, and a recently upgraded network running 100MB/s from my ISP. I have a Linksys (Cisco) E4200 high speed router, which has the ability to run an External Drive as a network drive. I also have a new MacBook Pro, and would like to use an external Network drive for both.

I was looking at the LaCie D2 Quadro 2TB.

Can I use MacDrive for this , or does the external drive have to be connected to one of the computers? If so which one?

Is there another way to do this?

Thanks to all, I'm new to Mac but loving it!

Mike

The drive will be shared by your router, not your computer. The router handles file system issues, not your computer. Use your browser to administer the USB drive using the router's web-based administration page. The bottom line is that you do not need additional software on either your Mac or Windows.
