A few days ago I received my brand-new 1ghz 12" Powerbook and everything was going amazing, but one time when i ejected the cd while putting it to sleep it made this strange noise and stopped. When i opened the screen after a few moments everything was fine and the cd came out but from then on the slot loading drive refused to take anything.

When i try to put the cd in it gets about half way and then it feels like i'm pushing on a stiff spring, its possible to get it in all the way but when you let go the cd shoots out like a toaster.

Pushing it in all the way also makes the computer make a strange low beeping sound for about 20 seconds, then it goes away.

If anybody has any advice as to how to fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated, if not i'll call apple.

p.s. i've already tried resetting the PMU, the NVRAM and the PRAM.

I would call Apple, this is probably a hardware problem. Call them and see what they have to say about it.
