Hey,

Wanted to ask if any one knew if the 24 inch M1 iMacs announced today will support viewing Netflix/Amazon content in 4k - via safari?
With Big Sur and security chip on the Mac, hoping it would be possible...

You can with all the other M1 Macs, so I don't see why not.

Do movies in iTunes App play in 4k or 1080p on the new iMac 24"? Do movies play in HDR or Dolby Vision when watching from the iTunes app and Safari for Netflix/Amazon on the new iMac 24"? Do the new iMac 24" support 4k HDR/Dolby Vision when watching movies?

Do movies play in 4.5k or 4k resolution on the new iMac 24"?

Would like to ask this question again, now that people have started receiving their M1 iMacs. Do they in fact support ultraHD/4k streaming on Netflix and Amazon?

Did this get ever verified with M1 based 24" iMacs?
No confirmation yet and I haven't seen any review videos confirming/denying it...Hoping someone would verify and let us know..

Hi all, I got in touch with Netflix support and they confirmed that UltraHD will work with the 24 inch M1 Macs.

Hi all,
So I got my 24 inch M1 iMac this weekend and am loving it.
I also have the ultraHD Netflix plan with high speed internet.
Unfortunately I do not see any ultraHD indicator against titles in Safari or in Chrome.

I am beginning to think the device is not compatible and Netflix support gave wrong info earlier.
To complicate matters, Netflix website has this note:
"4K Ultra HD support for macOS Big Sur is in development may not be available at all times."

Netflix support is saying it could be the reason but is not giving any timeline for fix. They will also investigate and reconfirm whether the new M1 model is compatible.

Will revert when I confirm one way or the other.
