Hi,
I have a new Intel iMac 2.16 running OS 1.4.10 with 2Gb RAM, and I'm having trouble burning to Dual Layer Verbatim DVD-R discs.
If I attempt to burn one using Disc Utility, I get an error telling me "The device is not supported for the requested burn operation". If I try to burn using the Finder, I get "The disc could not be used because the disc drive is not supported. (Error code 0x80020025)".
I've burnt normal DVD's and CD's fine with the drive, and when I check System Profiler, it tells me it has DVD-Write for -R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL.
Now, I'm THINKING I've been a bit foolish. I assumed because the "DL" appeared at the end, it supported ANY Dual Layer DVD's. Looking again, I'm re-thinking that to be that it only supports DVD+R DL.
Can anyone confirm that for me, before I go and buy any more?
