my niece has a newish imac...with os x...

but i haven't actually used os x yet...i'm completey lost...i can't figure where anything is yet...

we are trying to play dvd's on this...but i can't tell if it has a dvd drive...does anybody know what happened to the system profiler? how do i check out things like this...i'm stumped...

also, in order to play a dvd one much have an actual dvd drive...right? or do i just need to install the apple dvd player...

sorry...os x has me a little confused...

one way to find out is go and put a DVD in the drive to see if it plays
and yes you do need a DVD drive to play DVDs
and if you want to find out about your mac
got into you Macintosh HD and then into the applcations folder and then into the utillities folder and then go to apple system profiler

or here is a pic to help out

sherlock...for whatever reason wasn't finding the profiler...so i was quite lost...

we don't have a dvd drive...question...answered...
