Honestly, I would take Forbes as seriously for legit iPhone info as I would The Onion as a go-to news source.
It’s a Gordon Kelly article. Enough said.
(He writes nothing more than sensationalist Apple-hating clickbait. That said, you read it and reposted it, so it worked.)
To be honest, I expect something like that, at least regarding the shape of the phone. But I think that the notch will remain. I also expect (hope) slimmer bezels.
What have they been wrong about ?

Every year. Don't upgrade, wait for next year's iPhone.
Why get the iPhone 12 when you can wait for the iPhone 13? Hell, what about the iPhone 14, the iPhone 15?

Nothing personal, but I’m not clicking on a article from Forbes. They’re not an actual source for anything. The reason being, they just regurgitate information that likely is from renders from ‘fan artists’ that generate things that will never actually happen for the iPhone.
Side note:
[Traditionally, iPhone designs usually don’t change for about every three years, this year being adding the triple lens camera in all likeliness, but the most recent rumor, is that 2020 might have an eliminated notch for the iPhone, if that’s any consolation.]

I dunno though might wait for the iphone 100. It's got the new qualcomm modem thats compatible with 10g, for instantaneous data transfer using entangled electrons.

The last current release iPhone I bought was a 6s Plus. Still have it.
Got a 7 Plus the 2nd year it was out and hav not felt a need to get anything since.
Apple has also seen the vast majority of iPhone users aren't rushing year after to year to get whatever comes out in Septembers.
Only macrumormongers do this and not enough of them to keep apple's bottom line expanding.
The market overall has said enough.
I did get a Pixel 3XL during their Travel Gift Card Sale, after selling those this phone was $150.
