My friend is thinking about buying a new 3rd generation nano, and he also wants this speaker

and he was wondering if it would be possible to get it to work with the new nano,

Yes, it would work, but it wouldn't be perfect as those speakers don't have a specific adapter for the new nano, but you might be able to get one from the company soon.
