If this gets appealed to SCOTUS, this may be the showdown that is needed, though SCOTUS could again take the stance that this would only apply to New Jersey. Either way, this is good. One more state down.

I think that is great news, it is just sad that it took this long.

I know right? It's the ultimate slippery slope! One minute you have judges with an agenda, the next minute, you have god fearing straight men leaving their wives and having sex with each other!

(And to clarify for some members on the board, my post is completely sarcastic, and I'm assuming Mr Knight's is as well)

    I love my state. :)

Problem is the Christie administration will be appealing. They won't win in the end, but they can put a temporary hold on the marriages and they might not start on October 21st as scheduled. Then again the judge can refuse to put a hold on the ruling and they will proceed as planned.

Why is that a problem, seems like appealing it up to the supreme court would be the best way to get a ruling that applies nationally?

The administration said they will let the NJ Supreme Court make the final decision. It will never get to SCOTUS unless the pro-equality side loses in the NJ Supreme Court, which is extremely unlikely.
