iPod touch new mac,new ipod touch, old ipod

ok...have a new MBP and 8gb ipod touch. Have an old ipod nano windows formatted. Connected it to the MBP and started up itunes. chose the "transfer purchases" option. nothing happened. cant transfer music. any advice?

If you haven't authorized your MBP yet, then you will need to do that. If that doesn't get it to work, then download Senuti and use that to get the music off of your iPod.

was all your music purchased in itunes? i don't think you can transfer music that you ripped yourself or downloaded otherwise.
