Hi. I have a question please.

I searched in forum, but I can not find anything related to my question.
I have just bought Macbook Pro TB 13'
When I got out of the box I looked at the battery and battery mark 3 cycles of charge.

This is normal that one new MacBook comes with 3 cycles of charge???
It does not have to be 0 cycles like all iPhone that I bought so far?

Many thanks to everyone for the answer.

The battery is supposed to last over 1000 cycles, why does it even matter?

Your computer was probably pulled out of a production lot for extra QC, plain ands simple.

You got a brand new machine. Not unheard of for a Mac to have 3 cycles coming from the build site.

Yes, everything is fine and works well.

But my doubt is coming If it is not a return of another person.

Someone has used it for a day and returnet to the store.

I just want to know if it is normal that it comes with charge cycles.

I'm sorry I did not know this, it's my first Mac.

    Thanks to all

If it doesn't show any signs of being opened or used previously, I agree with the others who said it's normal for a new Mac to have a small amount of cycles out of the factory.

Totally normal, just like buying a new car but it has 10 miles on the odometer. Some testing is needed.

Apple is just making sure you get the god-awful battery life that everyone else is getting.

This is my first Mac for this reason I asked.
But totally normal for me is not that comes with 3 charge cycles.

I do not think Apple needs extra 3 cycles battery to check extra QC.

I would like that another user to confirm this.
Someone who has bought can check the cycles direct after opening the box.

    Only for curiosity
    It costs nothing

    Thanks

Seeing how this your first Mac, how about you realize that some of the people responding have experienced the same thing for what was described. Apple does this with some of the Macs. You're Mac isn't used. Stop being paranoid and start enjoying your Mac.

    Show me where I'm complaining
    --- Post Merged, Dec 1, 2016 ---
We talk about MacBook, not about cars.
    Think about the difference.

In electronic devices the battery cycles and/or SSD usage, for example, is a symptom for some use.

And I repeat, so far all the products I have bought from Apple have always come with battery use 0.

And I'm not paranoid, it was just my question for one thing that I don't know this.

I do not care if this MacBook has one or 10 charges
I just wanted to know if it's normal.
No one was born knowing everything. You do???

I would look the laptop over and if you can find any chaffing of the chassis (love the alliteration) then I would send it back. If you keep it I would generate some graphs of battery usage at different temperatures and app usages. Please label the abscissas and ordinates well.

Look, I ordered mine the day they were announced. It shipped 2-3 days later.

The battery had 2-3 cycle when I opened it. It's normal.

Just return it if you are going to agonize over 3 cycles. Done and you keep your sanity I guess.

Anything with a counter has to start somewhere.
1-3 on a factory machine is normal average
Refurbished and open box from some resellers your mileage will vary

My new MBP TB 13" had 3 cycles out of the box also. It was definitely new and not a return. Some come with 0 cycles, some come with a few cycles it depends on the battery. If it has less than 10 cycles it's almost guaranteed it's not a return. FYI, Apple doesn't resell returns, they get sold via the refurbished store.

All macs are quality tested some more than others, both the MacBook pros I have bought have had 2 or 3 cycles out of the box.

He's not complaining about anything. Fact of the matter is, I don't care how "new" it looks... if I spend $4,000 on a laptop, I sure as hell better be getting a brand spanking new one. OP is just wondering if it's normal, and my answer to OP is that it likely is, and likely went through some quality control tests like a few other people here mentioned.

I just got my 15" MBP and it too came with 3 battety cycles out of a brand new, unopened box. Wouldn't worry about it.

I have never said that I care and that I want to return this because it has 3 cycles of charge.

I just asked for curiosity. ;)

My computer works perfect. No minimum problem and no complaints.

As I said guys, this is my first Mac and it was only to know why the battery has charge cycles
and all my iPhones and iPad don't have these cycles when I bought.

For me the thread can be closed.

Thank you very much everyone for the responses.

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. My 13" non TB arrived with the same 3 cycles.
