New MacBook Pro... Weird Defaults?

I just got a brand new Quad-Core Intel Core i7 MacBook Pro (15 Inch), and the dock light indicators are on?

However, when I upgrade installed Lion on my MacBook Pro (13", 2.7GHz i7), the indicator lights were off by default.

When I installed it on my brother's MacBook Pro (13" 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo), the indicator lights were on by defaults

What is the standard, default setting for lion? Is it configuration specific?, if so, why does my quad core computer have them on and my dual core computer not?

He means the lights under an icon in the Dock to show that an app is running.

Well that should be normal/default.
