new Photos app - is location info. *added* to a photo in iPhoto preserved?

I've seen a lot of conflicting info. on this, and I'm trying to nail down an answer before I spend time adding location info. to pictures in iPhoto that might not be saved when transferred to Photos.

As asked in the title, does location info. added to photos in iPhoto transfer to the new Photos, or is that info. lost?

Please note: I'm asking about location info. that was *added* to pictures in iPhoto, not GPS info. that was already embedded into photos. I know the latter is preserved in Photos, but it's unclear if *added* location info. transfers.

Yes. If you have manually geotagged your photos in iPhoto, they are displayed as geotagged in Photos.
